I'm Bored, so Bored!

Okay, I don't know about ya'll, but does your children sit around all day, complaining of how bored they are? Well, mine does. I try to keep her busy, by giving her chores and things to do around the house, but still it does not keep her from saying those words of boredom. Honestly, today, it was really starting to get on my nerves today. Haven't we all said at some point, "If I hear those words one more time...". Alexis blames her boredom on not having a brother or sister. She tells me that it is her future sibling's fault b/c they are not here yet to entertain her. I can't help but laugh when she says things like that. I try to encourage her that for right now, she does not have a brother or sister, so she will just have to find ways to entertain herself.

I really wish that we had the funds for her to be in a camp program this summer. Unfortunately, this year, we do not have the finances to put her in camp for the summer, but I have tried hard for her to be around other kids and have activities around the house. I am currently searching for free activities around town. If you know of any, please pass them on to me.

Boredom was the very reason last year, that I started teaching her school early, b/c she was so bored but I really want her to enjoy her summer and have lots of fun this year! What's a mom to do beside put ear plugs in her ears? Any suggestions?

NCHE Conference

Wow, what an informative weekend! This was my first year going to the NCHE conference and I thoroughly enjoyed it! The information that I gathered was outstanding! It gave me a better understanding of how I want to homeschool and an idea of what curriculums to use. The speakers were excellent, informative and creative.

I want to send a special thank you out to Joe & April's family; Roy and Sandy and their daughter April. All of them have such kind and giving hearts. They were such a blessing to April and me. They treated me like family, even though they had never met me before. What wonderful people they are.

I also want to thank my friend April B. for making it possible for me to go. Without her generosity and thoughtfulness, I never would have gone. Thank you again April.

Next year April and I want our husbands to go. I think it is a wonderful way of encouraging husbands, especially ones who do not get an opportunity to partcipate much in homeschooling b/c of their jobs.

I was blown away by the information gathered and would suggest this conference to anyone. I completely walked away with a fresh outlook on homeschooling. It was wonderful, encouraging and informative. I am so glad that I went.
